Making a bootable thumb drive

There are many reasons why you would make a usb drive bootable, Usually because you want to run some sort of recovery tool / program.  In this article I am going to show you how you can make such a tool

You might want to create a bootable usb drive to run a recovery tool or some sort of utility program. In this guide I will show you how to make such a bootable drive

You need to make sure your computer can boot to a usb drive.  Go in to the computers bios and check if there is an option for usb booting and make sure it is enabled.  Then go to the ipl section and make sure the usb device is the 1st boot device

The easiest way to make a bootable usb drive is to use a program called “HP Drive Key Boot Utility” google it and download the program.  Insert your usb drive in to your system and format it via windows with fat32 file system. Then load the “HP Drive Ket Boot Utility” and follow the prompts within the GUI

google and download an iso file for the version of ms-dos you wish to install / use.  If you are having problems locating an iso file try allbootdisks dot com.  Next locate and download a program called unetbootin, Extract the file and double click on the .exe file.  Now select the “Disk image” radio button, make sure “ISO” is selected then browse to your ISO. make sure “USB Drive” is selected under type and the correct drive is selected under “Drive”  Now double check all the settings and if you are ok with them hit the ok button

bad_pool_caller blue screen error

The bad_pool_caller blue screen error is usuall caused by a hardware fault with your memory. To confirm this you can run a memory tester such as memtest on your system,  This will confirm if its the memory or not.  You can download hirens boot cd or ultimate boot cd and run the memory test programs that are on there. If you have more than 1 chips of memory in your computer remove each chip at a time and boot your machine to see if the error goes away.
